The Murasama was a top of the line masterpiece, not a manufactured blade and is thus more powerful. Platinum really should have made the long blade available by completing all VR missions, period. Well that's nice to know. You would figure they'd bait you into doing a seriously hard task with a seriously Godly weapon. But, no.

Is Murasama the best pre-Moon Lord melee weapon? Yes, but only for Jetstream Sam. Very good, but no. Personally I think the Elemental Excalibur or the Earth are better, but I haven’t done a melee run in a while. It’s a very good one, but it has its limits.
