You DON"T want to leave it in the prime position , this will cause flooding into your cylinders and crankcase contaminating your oil as the bike sits. 95 800A.

Evidently I was shifting at way too high rpm even tho the motor was not sounding like it. I read in owners manual the shifting speeds: Gear speed/ mph. 1st 0 - 12.Check for oil around the spark plug cavity and then explore this further. On the 1500, the service manul says a special tool is need to pull the spark plug tubes, but you can fashion a tool out of the rear axle nut and unscrew the tube. I'd bet the 800 is similar.
